The Doctors
Kristine Liberty, M.D. – Graduated summa
cum laude in Biology and Chemistry from St. Norbert College. She obtained her medical degree from Northwestern
University Medical
School and completed her residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital.
She has been practicing in Naperville and Plainfield since 1998.
Dr. Liberty is a Board Certified Pediatrician and a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Liberty
enjoys spending her free time with her husband and their two children.
Steven Kovar, M.D. – Attended The University Chicago where he
received a Bachelor of Arts with Special Honors. Dr. Kovar received his
medical degree from the University
of Illinois at Chicago
College of Medicine. He then completed a General Pediatric Residency at Hope
Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn,
Illinois, where he was chief
resident in his final year. He has been practicing in Naperville
and Plainfield
since 2002. Dr. Kovar is a Board Certified Pediatrician and a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is the
Chairman of the Edward Hospital MCE committee. Dr. Kovar likes to spend his
free time with his wife and their two sons.
Our Nurse Practioner
Laura McGath, RN, MSN, CPNP
–
Laura received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Hope College in 1989 and earned a Masters of Science in Nursing degree from Grand Valley State University in 2002. She is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner and has almost 20 years of experience working with infants, children and adolescents. Laura has been practicing as a nurse practitioner in the Naperville/Plainfield area since 2004 and joined Kids First Pediatrics in 2008. In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children.

Marikate Manzo, RN,
BSN. –
Marikate graduated from Lewis University earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1998. She has worked in the fields of
cardiology, surgery and pediatrics. Marikate’s interests include
pediatric growth, development and nutrition. She enjoys spending time with her
husband, daughter and two step children.
Michelle Oliver, RN,
BSN. – Michelle is a pediatric RN who received her
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Illinois State
University. She has a
background in orthopedics and trauma. She has been with Drs. Liberty and
Kovar for over two years. Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 children.
Jennifer Sass, RN,
BSN - Jen has been a pediatric nurse since
1999. She received her Bachelor of
Science degree in Nursing from Mennonite College of Nursing in Bloomington, IL. She worked in Peoria
at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois at Saint Francis Medical Center for 5
years before moving to the Chicago
area. She then transitioned from the
hospital into office nursing, continuing in the field of pediatrics. She
currently resides in Aurora with her husband Jeff and their two children,
Tyler and Olivia. In her free time,
Jen enjoys being with her family and is active in her church.
Jennifer Fritsch, RN, BSN – Jennifer
received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois
University in 1998 and
an Associate in Science in 1995. Jennifer is an American Heart Association
BLS Instructor for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). She is the nursing
manager for Kids First Pediatrics and the office coordinator for Synagis ©.
Jennifer has participated in the “Mentor in the Youth in Business Day”
program and has developed numerous teaching guidelines for staff and
families. Her free time is spent with her husband and two children.
